This patient had suffered a gradual breakdown of tooth height and loss of tooth substance in the front of the mouth, and was unhappy with the appearance and colour of the teeth. The patient was also losing facial height because of this. Minimal preparation crowns were used to radically change the appearance of these upper teeth, giving a more youthful appearance with an increased facial height and more ideal facial proportion. The lower teeth were restored with white filling material to achieve this too.
The patient was unhappy with the colour and shape of the upper front teeth. The crowned upper right central incisor tooth was too white and its margin finished above the gum line. The other central incisor was in-standing with an obvious filling in it. I re-crowned the crowned tooth and placed a porcelain veneer on the in-standing tooth to provide harmony in colour and shape and better alignment of the upper teeth.
The patient had a stained and unsightly upper central incisor and was not happy to show it, so she rarely smiled. I placed a white filling veneer over it and took the ‘after photo’ one year later.
The patient was unhappy with a discoloured upper lateral incisor tooth that had been root treated. I placed a white filling veneer over this tooth so the patient could smile with confidence again.
This patient had suffered a traumatic injury to his tooth, (it was hit by a hockey stick). The tooth discoloured because the nerve died as a consequence of the injury. Following root canal therapy, I whitened this tooth to achieve a natural looking tooth colour again.
A patient attended with severe wear of her upper front teeth. The repair of this wear was accomplished in one visit with the addition of colour matched white fillings.
The patient was unhappy with a discoloured upper lateral incisor tooth that had been root treated. She was keen that the tooth be restored to look as natural as possible. I crowned this tooth paying careful attention to the margins, (where it joins the gum), the shape and colour.
