Dr. Douglas Miller trained and qualified at Guy's Dental Hospital London in 1983 and has served on the dental staff there both in Prosthodontics, and the Sedation and Special Care unit where he treated dentally phobic patients.
Douglas continues to teach techniques for the treatment of nervous patients to both Dentists and Dental Nurses. He is actively involved in the latest dental techniques and procedures both in the United Kingdom and the U.S.A. where he has studied at the acclaimed Pankey Institute.
Although this is a family practice, where Douglas treats people of all ages, he is renowned for the treatment of anxious patients and holds a Post-Graduate qualification from London University in Dental Sedation and Dental Phobia Therapy. He offers a variety of sedative techniques to help patients overcome their fears. His practice is highly regarded and is also a referral practice for many Dentists who refer their dental patients to him when they are too anxious to be treated elsewhere.
Treatments involving sedation or acupuncture are also offered for patients who "gag" when having dental procedures.
Douglas has been a consultant to Glaxo SmithKline Oral Healthcare Division and is an active member of the British Dental Association, the Dental Sedation Teachers Group, the British Society of Periodontology, the Association of Dental Implantology, and the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry. He regularly acts as a professional consultant and spokesperson for the British Dental Association.
Douglas regularly lectures to Dentists and Dental Nurses on the treatment of nervous dental patients and sedation techniques. He is also an Expert Witness and this work involves him in advising in Medico-Legal matters and reporting on dental negligence cases.

Jackie is highly experienced as both a Dental Nurse and a Practice Receptionist. She trained as a Dental Nurse at Guy's Hospital Dental School. She holds both the National Certificate in Dental Nursing and The Guy’s Hospital Certificate for Dental Nurses, and is trained in Dental Sedation. Jackie has also qualified as a kindergarten and learning support teacher, so she is very good with children. Jackie is very good at putting patients at their ease with a cup of coffee and a smile, and is usually in attendance on a Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Prior to starting work at the practice as a part time receptionist, I was an Estate Agent for 20 years whilst simultaneously running our own Property Management business, which I still do. Having always worked in customer-facing roles I am welcoming, approachable and have empathy towards those that feel fearful of visiting the dentist. I enjoy spending time with my family and being a 'football mum'. You will find me most weekends on the side line cheering on my two boys in their matches!
I joined the practice as a registered dental nurse in January 2018. Currently, I spend my time alternating between duties on reception as well as in the surgery assisting Mr Miller.
In 2019, I successfully passed the Certificate in Dental Sedation Nursing with the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN), which allows me to assist safely with a range of dental procedures for nervous and dentally phobic patients under sedation. I am a determined individual and eager to succeed as a dental nurse, with a lively and friendly personality.
I enjoy spending time with my daughter, wandering around museums and the outdoors.
I qualified as a dental nurse in January 2016 with the NEBDN Diploma. I have vast experience of working in private dental practice.
During my dental career I have completed a number of courses such as Oral Hygiene Education, Dental Radiography and Impressions taking. I like trying new things and am always looking to learn more and gain more experience.
In addition to high quality dental care, I have a calm and gentle nature, ensuring that even the most nervous patients feel comfortable. I am passionate about my pets, cooking, and staying fit.

Dawn qualified at Glasgow School of Dental Hygiene in 1984 and has worked at a hospital for Sick Children, a Maternity Hospital, an Oral Surgery Department, and also delivered a tooth decay prevention programme for Glasgow University. She has found time to lecture student nurses, and has worked in Private Practice in North and Central London.
Oral Health Promotion has always been a passion of hers. Consequently, she devised, implemented and delivered the Oral Health Promotion Programme for Sure Start (Westminster), and an Oral Health Programme for Marks and Spencer.
Whilst at Sure Start she designed and wrote a dentally themed book for young children. She joined this practice in 1992, had a short break and returned in 2000.
Dawn says, "It is important to me to form trusting, caring relationships with my patients and I endeavour to do so at all times. My longevity at the practice can be attributed to my enjoyment of working with Douglas and his team, and that they really care for and value their patients. It is a pleasure to come to work."
We always endeavour to treat our patients with the utmost care, compassion and respect. We also aim to provide quality treatments to the highest standards. If you wish to comment on your treatment, (favourable or otherwise), please feel free to address any comments to either Jackie Miller or Douglas Miller.
